On Feb 4, 2006, Jesse opens his new venue,
Irie Ites (festival site) by hosting his 14th Annual
Bob Marley Day. This event is when Jesse's
Jah Kine Band follows their own set by being
the band of
Jamaican Reggae Superstar Anthony B
During his long and freewheeling music career,
Jesse has played in the opening acts of
reggae greats
such as
Steel Pulse, Israel Vibration, Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff,
The Wailers, Third World, Anthony B, UB40, Inner Circle,
Prezident Brown, Midnite, Freddy McGregor, Ras Michael,
Eek-a-Mouse, and many more greats...
Jesse Dawn was voted by a 2004 Reader's Poll held
by Hawaii Island's 2nd largest publication, The
Hawaii Island Journal (Circulation 25,000), voted to be
one of Hawaii's 3 best & most popular musicians.
Further, the 2005 Journal Reader's Poll voted
Jesse and Jah Kine
Hawaii Island's BEST BAND.
Also, Jesse's annual Bob Marley Day festivals
(an event he has organized & financed for the
past 12 years), was voted by the same 2004 Reader's Poll

Jesse and Jah Kine’s 2004 CD: Listen Again, My Friend
was nominated for a 2004 GRAMMY. Listed as
number 7 on the worldwide reggae Grammy nominations list
On Saturday, March 12th 2005 Jesse Dawn and the New Kine
is the closing band of the first annual Hawaii Music Expo in
Honolulu’s Massive Blaisdell Center. This event is the
first time that the Hawaii music business all comes together for a
showcase event.
Along the way Jesse has made albums filled
with his delightfully conscious songs about the
environment, life and the body,
albums danceable and lively, albums crafted by
7 to 8-piece bands loaded with truly great musicians.
